St John’s has recently employed two new musicians to take our musical tradition forward, and maintain and develop our reputation as a place of high-quality music-making. Richard Sutton will be taking up the role of Director of Music in November. Richard (born in 1969) read English at Durham University, studying organ with Ian Shaw at […]
On Sunday 1st September we officially welcomed Danny Simpson, a member of the congregation at St John’s, in his new role as a Southwark Pastoral Auxiliary (SPA). On Saturday 13th July fifteen of us from St John’s walked in the parade at Croydon Pride, and then were joined by a few more to enjoy the music and other entertainment at Wandle Park. We joined a group from several churches walking under a ‘Christians at Pride’ banner, aiming to show that many Christians […]

We’ll keep collecting female hygiene products for the food bank in addition to food, because this is an ongoing issue. The collection takes place on the first Sunday of each month.

Watch this space for the next one… On Sunday morning, as we celebrated Pentecost, our Junior Choir […]

The Death Awareness afternoon at St John’s was very successful, with lots of people passing through the hall to meet representatives from various organisations. Keep an eye out for the next event!

On Maundy Thursday (18th April) at 8pm we remember the Last Supper by celebrating the eucharist. Members of the congregation have their feet […]

Paper copies will be delivered throughout the parish, but if you’d like to read it electronically, you can download our Spring Newsletter here. We look forward to […]
