Children at St John’s this Christmas

Advent has only just begun, but there’s plenty going on closer to Christmas for children to get involved in.

On Saturday 21st December, from 9.30am to 12.30pm we are holding our annual Children’s Christmas Workshop, with craft activities, face painting, games, and story-telling. An opportunity to spend a morning away from the shops, having fun in preparation for Christmas.

Last night we had our Advent carol service, and the Junior Choir took part and sang beautifully:

They’ll be singing again this coming Sunday (8th December), and at our Christmas Carol Service on Sunday 22nd December at 6pm. If your child is around 7–11 years old and would like to sing in our Junior Choir, which usually sings in church once or twice a month, please contact Richard Sutton, our Organist and Master of Music (sjunorganist@gmail.com).

On Christmas Eve at 4pm we have our Crib Service, a telling of the Christmas story with carols and the assembling of our large nativity set as the story unfolds. Always popular with local families!

And of course every Sunday we have Diddy Disciples (for under-8s) and Junior Disciples (8 and above), our two Sunday school groups, which look at part of the Bible and learn about the faith while the adults are listening to readings and a sermon. Your child is always welcome!

Have a good Christmas when it comes!
