Christmas Carol Services at St John’s

Many things have been different this year and St John’s Christmas Carol Services are no exception. This year we will have three Christmas Carol Services to ensure that we have enough space to invite everyone who wants to join us for these special services. We are extremely blessed to have found three amazing choirs who present wonderful music.

We’ll start our Christmas Carol marathon on 20 December at 3:00pm with Katie Rose’s Welcome Choir. Katie has run singing groups for people of diverse backgrounds in community settings including hospitals, hospices, mental health services, PRUs and carers centres since 2002 and we are delighted that she will be bringing her Community Choir to sing for our family and community Carol Service.

On 20 December at 6:00pm with candlelight to aid us in our reflection our own church choir with the help of professional singers will present traditional Christmas anthems and carols reminding us of the forthcoming birth of the infant Jesus in Bethlehem.

Our third Carol Service takes place on 21 December at 7:00pm and we are deeply grateful that Concordia, the well-known South London based chamber choir will be singing for our Carol Service. Using their own repertoire combined with the traditional readings from the 9 Lessons and Carols Service, we will celebrate again the story of our hope and joy, in the infant Jesus being born of Mary.

We hope that you’ll be able to join us in person for one of our Carol Services.

In order to attend the services, you need to get free tickets, which are available on Eventbrite.

If you are unable to attend in person, please do join us online, on our facebook page (or later on, on our YouTube Channel.
