Over the past couple of months we have been running a fundraising campaign to support St John’s as our income has slumped, like many other organizations and churches.
Admittedly the campaign could have gone a little better, but that’s not the end of the world. But within this campaign, we have experienced a dramatic decline in the building, primarily by a window no longer being safely secured at a high level. We have undertaken extreme and costly measures to make the building safe.
As we close this campaign at the end of October, perhaps you would consider supporting St John’s as we face unexpected demands on reserves which have been significantly diminished and need building up again in order to prepare for the next “problem” with the building and support the day to day running costs of the church which amount to about £6,000 a month.
Over the next couple of weeks our Contactless Payment system arrives in church, I hope you will make use of that to support the work of so many volunteers at St John’s. But for now we have the just giving link (https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/stjohnsAutumnFundraiser), I hope you can support us with a little which I promise you will mean a lot.
But, most importantly, make sure that you are not running up debts in your own life and household. If you are, ignore this request because your wellbeing is your first responsibility.
