Junior Choir

St John’s is beginning a Junior Choir, which will rehearse once a week and, to begin with, will sing with the adult choir in church once a month.

St John’s Choir used to include children, and we’d like to bring them back! We’re setting up a Junior Choir for children aged 7 to 11 years old, allowing children to gain access to a musical education, to learn to sing, to develop new friendships, and in the future to gain choral scholarships in educational establishments. Please contact the Director of Music, Max Smith (vox.humana@hotmail.co.uk), for an informal discussion, or the Parish Administrator, Rachel Rae (sjunoffice@gmail.com), to formally join the choir.

To fit in with the other commitments children may have, there will be two options for rehearsals: either Wednesdays 4.30–5.30pm or Thursdays 4.30–5.30pm.

Rehearsals start on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th February, and the Junior Choir will sing in church for the first time on Sunday 31st March (Mothering Sunday).
