“More tea, vicar?” – tea party raises funds for young people starting out

Last Saturday, St John’s hosted a tea party organised to raise funds to buy kitchen equipment for the young people at Evolve Housing as they prepare to leave supported living and become independent.  Members of the congregation and local community had already donated a large quantity of vital kitchen items and the funds raised by the tea party will allow Evolve to make up enough packs for those who need them.  A fine array of cakes was on offer, supplemented by cello music from Julia Desbruslais of the London Mozart Players and the sun shone all afternoon.

An impressive total of £1,270 has been raised for this incredibly good cause – thanks are due to everyone who has donated.
