During the lockdown, lots of charities and community groups are functioning differently, and lots of new initiatives have sprung up to provide the help that’s needed. If you, or someone you know, needs help, have a look through the information below. There’s also information here about how to volunteer, if you are able.
Croydon Voluntary Action
CVA is coordinating Croydon’s voluntary and community sector effort to maintain social connections across the borough – visit their website.
They’re compiling a directory of services and activities still running – so please email firstname.lastname@example.org with brief details of whatever support your group is managing to provide.
They have a telephone helpline for vulnerable people who need support: 020 8253 7076.
For anyone who is able to volunteer, we have a very short form to fill in: click here, complete and submit to our Volunteer Centre team, who will then get in touch with you.
Finally, the CVA Resource Centre is operating as a Community Hub – a food and medicines collection and delivery point. To make donations please contact us on 020 8253 1268 between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday, or via Shalina.Alabaksh@cvalive.org.uk.
