Last Sunday we started our Junior Disciples session on Zoom for the first time. For those of you with children or grandchildren who aren’t aware, Junior Disciples is our Sunday school for children over 7.
Claudia Young and Fr Tom led the Zoom Junior Disciples and it all went very well: they talked about the Parable of the Bridesmaids and Remembrance Sunday of course.
There were eight of us who gathered on Zoom, which was great.
During this next period of Lockdown, it is more important than ever to keep the relationships we have with one another going. Though we cannot meet in person, we can meet with the use of technology and keep not only friendships healthy, but the teaching of the church in the mind of young and old.
The idea to Zoom our children’s work in Junior Disciples not only keeps us friendly as the family of Jesus, but reminds us that we are not alone, even if we are being kept at home. It also reminds us that the home too can be a place of learning for our children, so that church and stories about Jesus aren’t only discussed in the Church Building which is for now inaccessible to many of us.
Your children are invited and welcome to join us this Sunday at 10am for Junior Disciples. Please sign up to the parish email at sjun.org.uk for the zoom link, and with videos and audio switched on… we can meet with each other and rejoice in being together virtually.
