Join our free Children’s Choir at St John’s, Upper Norwood
We’re inviting boys and girls aged 7 to 13 (school years 3–8) to join the brand new Upper Norwood Children’s Choir – a vibrant and welcoming community of young singers based at St John’s, Upper Norwood.
Whether your child is already passionate about singing or just beginning to explore their voice, we believe all children can sing – and all children belong.
Weekly Rehearsals – Fun, Free & Full of Music
📅 Thursdays (term time)
🕓 4:00 PM – 5:15 PM
📍St John’s, Upper Norwood
🍎 Walking bus from Cypress Primary School at 3:15 PM available with a healthy snack provided, though kids from all local schools can join!

No previous musical training is needed – we’re looking for musical potential, a positive attitude, and most importantly, a love of singing.
Meet our Director of Music – Daniel Gilchrist
Daniel Gilchrist is a professional choir director, organist, and tenor with extensive experience leading both children’s and adult choirs. He is the musical director of the acclaimed vocal ensemble The Selene Consort, whose debut album Heavenly Light was released in 2025.
Daniel is passionate about working with young singers, helping them build confidence, musical skills, and a love of choral music in a fun, supportive environment. At St John’s, he leads the Upper Norwood Children’s Choir, bringing his professional expertise and warm, engaging approach to every rehearsal.
