A Fun & Faith-Filled Afternoon for Everyone!
Messy Church is a vibrant, hands-on experience for families, with science experiments, crafts, storytelling, role play, storytelling and singing. After an hour of activities, everyone enjoys a hot meal together. This is a free event for families of all shapes and sizes, and it’s a great way to engage children aged 3-12, though younger and older children are also welcome. Donations are appreciated but not required.

No, Messy Church is for families so all children need to be accompanied by an adult, apart from our teenage volunteers 🙂

Yes please! Booking helps us plan for the right number of children and grown-ups to cater to each event.

Yes! Messy Church is completely free, but you’re welcome to make a donation to help us keep it open for everyone.

Messy Church activities are aimed mainly at primary school age children, but younger and older children are also welcome. Younger children may enjoy the sensory play, whilst older primary school age children can often be found at the science station! Teenagers often make great young leaders.

Absolutely! At St John’s, we welcome children of all ages and families of all backgrounds. Every family has a place in our community. Please feel free to reach out to Fr John or Mthr Rachael if you’d like to discuss how we can help your child feel safe and supported at Messy Church. We’re here for you.
