Youth Church (11–18s)

Youth Church is for anyone aged 11–18, whether you're a regular at church, exploring faith, or just curious. We meet on the first Sunday of every month from 3–5 PM in the Vicarage.

Expect games, creative activities, open discussions about life and faith, and always snacks.
Everyone is welcome.

Youth Church at St John’s Upper Norwood welcomes ages 11–18. Join us monthly for games, creative activities, faith talks, and snacks. Open to all—whether curious or committed.

What Happens at Youth Church?

At Youth Church, young people aged 11–18 can expect an afternoon filled with games, creative activities, and plenty of opportunities to discuss big questions about faith, life, and everything in between. Alongside our monthly meetups, we also plan trips, socials, and camps throughout the year to build friendships and explore new experiences together. And yes—there’s always snacks.

Led by Mthr Rachael and Fr John, Youth Church is all about creating a welcoming space to connect, explore faith, and have fun.

  • Of course. You don’t have to be a Christian to come along. Bring your questions—we love them.

  • We sometimes need volunteers (with DBS & safeguarding checks). Speak to Mthr Rachael or Fr John if you’re interested.

For ages 11–18, Youth Church meets monthly at St John the Evangelist, Upper Norwood. Enjoy fun, faith discussions, creativity, and snacks in a welcoming space for everyone.

Youth Group Residential 2026 – Summit Centre, South Wales

This year, we went to the Summit Centre in South Wales for our Youth Group Residential in August 2026. It was a fantastic, action-packed week of canoeing, caving, hill walking, sports, campfires, worship, and plenty of fun, friendship, and food! Young people from school year 6 through to year 13 took part, split into four age groups so everyone got activities suited to their age. The week was led by Fr John, Mthr Rachael, Fr Archie, our youth leader Lily, and Jermaine, who created a safe, fun, and supportive environment throughout.
